Folks, we have the same issue this year as last.  The direction map generated at the Active.com registration website plots the start location incorrectly.  I have spoken with Active and they assure me they will get it fixed this year.

Just to be clear, the start/finish point is the same as last year - Lamar Dr., Hill College, Hillsboro, TX 76645.

All the maps on this website have the correct location for the start/finish.

See you on Saturday, May 7th.

Corrected start/finish location map:

Below is the sponor banner for this year's Waggin' Trail Bike Ride.  We had more sponsors this year than in any previous year.

Thank you Hill County for your outstanding community support and we look forward to next year's ride - Saturday, May 7th.

Thanks everyone (volunteers and riders) for making this year's Waggin Trail a hugh success.  We have received many complliments about all aspects of the ride, as well as some good constructive critizism (that we'll comment on later) that will help us improve the ride for next year.

Thanks to Betty Hendricks for manning the registration (which went extremely well, according to the feedback from the riders) as well as all the SAG workers.  The ride was well supported with support.  Several folks had mechanical problems (mostly flat tires) and were picked up quickly by SAG support.

All the rest stops were manned well, setup ontime, and ready to go when the ride started.  Thank you everyone who worked our numerous rest stops.

Needless to say, the hamburgers/hotdogs and live entertainment (band) was a big success and we can't thank David and Carol Huens (provided the hamburgers/hotdogs), Terry Martin (who provided the awesome grill), Deborah Dezendorf (who arranged the band), Dave Mojica, Lynelle Sparks, and Natasha Sawyer (Explorers and Sesame Club who cooked and served) enough for their contribution.

Great job everyone...

We had several photographers out and about during the ride and will post pictures here on the website soon.  But here are some to enjoy now.

So,  mark you calendars for May 7th, 2016 (always first Saturday in May) for next year's Waggin Trail Bike Ride.  I'm sure its gonna be the best ever...

Waggin Trail is just around the corner and I just checked the 10 day forcast (we know they are always correct - Right:) and the weather is going to be great again this year.

Couple things new this year.

1.  The Hillsboro Explorers and Scouts are going to be serving free hamburgers and hotdogs (with fixin's) from about 10:30 or so till 3 or 4 in the afternoon.  So plan on hanging around a bit after you finish and chat awhile with us and other riders.

2.  Along with the hamburgers and hotdogs, there will be live entertainment throughout the day at Start/Finish.

Each of our many rest stops will be stocked with ice, water, gator aid, bananas, oranges, pickle juice, pretzels, cookies, paper towels, and friendly volunteers.

In addition, one of the after ride critiques last year requested that we have PBJ sandwiches.  Well you got it.  We will have them at the Brandon rest stop (central rest stop of all rides) and probably at others (Irene, Malone, Bynum).

Since the Start/Finish is at Hill College this year, click HERE for a map of the Start/Finish with parking lots highlighted in green.  The location map at Active.com is not qute right and they have been working with us to get the location pointer to point to the correct spot (ie Hill College).

It's simple really.  Hill College is just behind the Outlets at Hillsboro (that would be to the East of the mall).  Just Google "Hill College, Hillsboro, TX 76645".  Google will "point" you in the right direction.

Building #70 (Start/Finish) is right next to the Performing Arts Center (PAC) which is located in the central portion of the campus right off Lamar Dr. (the central road that goes thru the whole campus).

So pump up those tires, greese the bearings, adjust the derailleur and chain and get ready for Waggin Trail Bike Ride.  It's gonna be great.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday, May 2nd.  Registration starts at 07:30am with the ride starting promptly at 09:00am.

See ya there....

The planning is going well and all is looking good for this year's ride.  Here are some comments from last year's ride (ride reviews from www.bicycle-stuff.com) :

"...this was a great little ride, very we'll organized. Quick and easy packet pickup. I even got a shirt (and in the right size) even though I registered late, so thanks to the organizers for ordering extras. And the t-shirts were nice. Lots of SAG on the route and lots of rest stops with adequate supplies, including lots of ice. Signage was great..."

"EXCELLENT Ride. I rode the 100 mile route and the directions were spot on...  ...Rest stops were every 10 miles with ice and some goodies. Temperature got pretty hot so the ice was very much welcomed. They came prepared. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. This was my 4th time to do this ride and will definitely be back again next year. It gets better and better every year. Thanks guys/gals for a great job!"

So don't miss out on all the fun.  Great scenery, great road surfaces, lots of rest stops.  It's gonna be a great ride this year.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for Saturday, May 2nd.  Registration starts at 07:30am and the ride begins at 09:00am

Also don't miss that the ride starts at Hill College this year - Building #70, Hill College, 112 Lamar Dr., Hillsboro, TX 76645

See ya at the Start/Finish.
